Following on from Caroline’s article in last month edition about the benefits of a Chemical Peel I was lucky enough to be invited to her quaint little studio, nestled in the beautiful village of Aston Rowant, to experience her AlumierMD Summer Red Carpet Treatment. Her bespoke package offered more than just a pampering session – it was an odyssey of transformation. Read on for my full review…
Upon entering Pure Skin Studio, the ambiance whispered promises of renewal. The soft lighting combined with calming hues created an oasis of tranquillity that immediately relaxed me. Caroline’s mastery and personal approach was apparent from the start as she analysed my skin, listened to my skincare concerns then talked me through each stage of the chemical peel process so any apprehensions I initially had quickly melted away. My journey of rejuvenation started with a cleanse and tone to degrease and prep my skin before applying a highly effective and gentle fruit enzyme resurfacing treatment to exfoliate dead skin cells and promote cell renewal.
After 5 minutes this was removed with warm water and the ‘Radiant 30’ peel was applied and left on my skin for 10 minutes. This is a gentle, multifunctional alpha-hydroxy acid resurfacing peel containing pure lactic acid to decrease the visible signs of ageing and discolouration. A product to neutralise the peel was then applied with gauze.
Next came an Aqua Infusion Mask which is a lightweight, oil free mask providing intense hydration by naturally increasing the skin’s ability to retain moisture with a blend of natural sugars, low molecular weight hylauronic acid and natural moisturising factors. This was my favourite part of the treatment as Caroline’s rhythmic application of the products really did transport me into a realm of deep relaxation enabling me to feel indulgently pampered whilst the mask worked its magic.
After the mask was removed, eye rescue pads were placed under my eyes to address concerns such as dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, and wrinkles then the final step was to apply targeted serums to my skin to help treat any redness, pigmentation and wrinkles. The treatment was finished off with an antioxidant broad spectrum SPF which is the most important part of any skin care routine.
Days later, the mirror unveiled a new me. My skin glowed with a revived radiance, it felt softer and my complexion was visibly clearer.
