GETTING BACK TO BUSINESS By Chris Harris, Harris Consultancy.

Chris Harris

We do hope you and your family are safe and well, this has been a tremendously stressful time for us all.

Over the last few months, we’ve been doing all we can to support our local communities, including marketing to create a local neighbourhood friend scheme to support the most vulnerable, children’s colouring competition to keep the little ones entertained and allowing researchers to use our idle office computers to help analyse and aid research for a vaccine for COVID19!

And the sense of community has been overwhelming, whilst we all find ways in which to help each other and support one another through these tough times while adapting to the new “norm”.

Adapting your business requires flexibility and an open mind, particularly if your business offers a service that would be challenging to achieve with the new social distancing rules, but everything is achievable and all challenges can be overcome.

We have seen a huge upward trend towards digitalisation, businesses are adapting their strategies and moving otherwise physical services online, perhaps they have introduced a subscription-based business model to help them with re-occurring revenues or started selling a product with a slight change on their core strategy. The point is, the consumer trend is changing and therefore businesses are coming up with new angles and initiatives to keep consumer interest and sales heading upwards.

And take this opportunity to re-evaluate your goals and business objectives, creating and breaking down your purposes into smaller achievable targets so that you feel proud and energised when you reach them rather than overwhelmed at the thought of getting there.

Here at Harris Consultancy our core objective has always been to offer help and support, obtainable through our free business advice programme. We will help you with any ideas you have and develop them digitally to use throughout your business. We are not just award-winning social media and web developers, we’re in the heart of the community helping and supporting local businesses.

Our social media and website packages offer excellent value for money in addition to our free longer term commitment to helping you grow your business – We don’t just want to build you a website and walk away, and we don’t want to silently manage your social media in the background, we’re committed to helping you with any business queries you may have, any thoughts on your strategy, after all two heads are better than one and small businesses don’t always have that opportunity to bounce ideas around. Harris Consultancy is committed now more than ever to continue to develop bright ideas for local business and will do all we can to help you succeed.

Our website packages start from £39 per month and social media management from £69 per month. We can also come up with a bespoke solution for you if our packages don’t quite fit your needs!

If you would like to reach out to us to discuss any of the above, or perhaps to look at your strategy in further detail, then please contact us:

There’s still time to get tickets to this months Abingdon Air & Country Show - turn to page 15 - and congratulations to our five lucky competition winners from our April competition! I know you’ll enjoy a fabulous day out! Another fun-filled family day out returning on 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝘀𝘁 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 is SydenhamFayre. The long-established event, co-ordinated and run entirely by villagers, raises funds for local groups and causes, supporting schools, community organisations and facilities in the surrounding area. Last year it raised over £9,000 for local causes. The Fayre centres around the picturesque village green from 12:30pm - 4:00pm and this year visitors can enjoy live entertainment, children’s games, a dog show, vintage cars, a BBQ, the tearoom and a huge variety of stalls selling quality gifts and goodies from local producers, plus there’ll be the ever-popular Bottle Tombola, Coconut Shy, Plate Smash, Plant Sale, Bric-A-Brac, Jewellery, Vintage Clothing and Tarot reader. Something else I wanted to draw attention to, after receiving a Press Release from Local home care company, Home Instead (Witney). They recently commissioned a survey of family carers and found 29% of them in Oxfordshire are at breaking point due to feeling highly stressed and isolated. It also concluded that a concerning 64% of them are neglecting their own health and well-being. As a company that supports older people in their own homes, Home Instead sees countless families in a desperate state as they seek to give their loved one the best life possible. If you are one of these people I urge you to reach out to them, or similar local organisations, to help you lighten the load. The full press release can be found on my website (here: https://shorturl.at/glvRX) along with contact information and tips that may help you and your loved ones. Until next month, enjoy reading...𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: https://look-localmagazine.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/MAY24_Issue138_28pg_WEB.pdf....#whatsgoingoninoxfordshire #looklocalmagazine #advertiselocal #supportsmallbusinessess #smallbusinesssupport #looklocal #smallbusinessesinoxfordshire #looklocalmagazineoxfordshire #localmagazineoxfordshire #oxfordshiremagazine #localmagazine #supportlocalbusiness #supportlocalbusinesses #supportlocal ...
