Thame Food Festival announces it’s new financial Bursary for LOCAL Artisan Food Producers.

Thame Food Festival 2018

At Thame Food Festival we have always encouraged and supported Artisan Food Producers. Since moving to Thame Showground and charging a small £5 entrance fee, we are now in a position to be able to offer a Thame Food Festival Bursary for the first time.

This Bursary is open to all newly formed, local Artisan Food businesses from within a 30 mile radius of Thame in Oxfordshire. The business must be one year old or less.

If you have an original idea, a concept that is exciting and innovative then we want to hear from you.

We want to help you.

Our aim is to support you as an Artisan Food producer. To encourage and help you make your product outstanding, delicious and successful.

** Thame Food Festival CIC will award the successful applicant £1000, a free pitch at this year’s event, a free page in the festival programme with PR and social media support for one year **

In addition to this, we have Food Festival Mentors who will be willing to help and encourage you for that year, using their many years of experience within the food and hospitality industry.

These are:

  • Adam Johnson, Head Development Chef for Raymond Blanc OBE,     Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons Oxfordshire.
  • Chris Wheeler, Executive Chef for Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire.
  • Nick Downie, Head of Marketing for Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire.

Patron and event co-ordinator Lotte Duncan said

‘We are so thrilled to now be in a financial position to give more help to local artisan producers. It’s something we’ve wanted to do for so long, but couldn’t. Now we’ve moved and are able to charge a small fee for entrance, we can give even more back to our community. Everyone who came last year and everyone who took stalls and sponsorship have also contributed and we want to thank them all so much. We can’t wait to see who the producers are that apply for the bursary. It’s a great package – £1000 and the expertise of some brilliant mentors. And you never know – next year we might be able to offer two!”

The Thame Food Festival committee would also like to thank everyone who came to the event last year, from the producers to the sponsors and the general public who have all contributed towards this Bursary.

Thame Food Festival CIC is a not for profit community interest company. In it’s 11th year, it’s held on the Thame Show Ground on 29th and 30th September 2018.
