Mary Berry joins the Thame Food Festival’s line-up

Mary Berry

A titan of the baking world – Mary Berry is joining the leading lights at this year’s Thame Food Festival. As one of the country’s best loved cookery writers and celebrated television personalities, Mary will be appearing on the first day of the show – Saturday 28th September at Thame Showground in Oxfordshire.

Mary is known nationwide for her work as a judge on The Great British Bake Off and her own series including Mary Berry’s Country House Secrets. Mary’s latest series Mary Berry’s Quick Cooking was broadcast on BBC 2 in March of this year and she is currently filming the second series of Britain’s Best Home Cook (BBC 1).

She will be doing an interview and book signing. This will be alongside an all-star cast of chefs and bakers who will be on the main demonstration stage including previous The Great British Bake Off and MasterChef winners and contestants. Returning for more demonstration magic are Jane Devonshire, Steven Carter Bailey and Chetna Makan.

As Lotte Duncan, Patron and Organiser of Thame Food Festival says,

“Well have we got a fabulous line-up of leading chefs and bakers this year! We are absolutely delighted that Mary Berry is joining us to celebrate all that is great and fabulous about food and cooking. We have got over 20 different demonstrations currently planned over the two days of the festival with a mix of chefs and bakers. They will be cooking live, sharing their knowledge and revealing their insights into the cooking and baking world, plus you never know, you just might get to taste something they’ve produced.”

In addition, yet again several of the chefs and bakers will be available for book signings post being on the stage.

Thame Food Festival CIC is a not for profit community interest company. This year’s event will be held at the Thame Show Ground on 28th and 29th September 2019.
This event, originally based in the town centre, has been going since 2008 and last year attracted thousands of people. This year is aiming to have over 180 artisan producers alongside demonstrations from many leading chefs and bakers. The event naturally attracts a number of high profile celebrities from both the chef and baking world including Master Chef and Great British Bake Off stars. It is also part of the British Food Fortnight (it falls in the middle weekend of that celebration).
