They say the best way to a man’s heart is through his stomach (I’m sure many woman will agree that its the best way to hers too) and it’s well documented that food and love go hand in hand. Romantic meals, sweet treats, fine wine all set the tone for a truly special night in (or out) with your beloved and many tongue tantalising dishes that we experience are in fact wonderful aphrodisiacs. Beside the obvious choices of seafood and chocolate, cheese is in fact embraced in Italian culture as one of the top aphrodisiacs.
So with Valentine’s Day just round the corner what better way to treat your loved one than to a hamper full of, quite literally, cheesy treats.
The Deli at No.5 have some ready-made hampers containing English Sparkling Wine, locally sourced handmade Chocolates, Heart shaped Godminster Vintage Cheese with Crackers & Chutney, or they can create bespoke hampers to order with your favourites. Joe & Hannah are happy to recommend the best alcoholic beverages to serve with the cheeses to enhance their flavour and bring out each ones distinctive characteristics. Also on offer is the Godminster heart shaped Brie and Cheddar Set, heart shaped Cheese and Fruit Cake Combo Set and individual heart shaped cheese will be on sale too.
Somerset made Godminster Cheddar is rich in flavour, both sweet and savoury, with a smooth texture whilst the Brie has a fresh creamy flavour which has been carefully mastered by skilled cheesemakers using milk from Godminster farm.
In keeping with the cheese themed Valentine’s offering The Deli at No.5 are introducing ‘Champion of Cheese’ where each fortnight they will be bringing in a ‘Guest Cheese’ for customers to sample and purchase via a loyalty scheme which will provide cheese fanatics the chance to receive future discounts and special offers.
And if you’re looking for something a bit different to the usual celebration cake at your forthcoming wedding or special function then why not ask Hannah & Joe about their speciality Cheese Cakes – they really will create a brie-utiful showstopper.
