Much-loved gastropub to offer sweet & savoury chocolate inspired menu on Friday 30th & Saturday 31st March.
Chocolate will be the taste on everyone’s lips, even more than usual this Easter, as popular gastropub – The Crown Inn, Sydenham – offers an exclusive ‘Chocolate Menu’ on Friday 30th & Saturday 31st March.
The special set 4-course ‘Chocolate Menu’ will tantalise the taste buds of every chocolate lover, with a savoury & sweet adventure through the much-loved treat…
From an indulgent start with dark chocolate, chilli & peanut skewers, followed by tender hogette rump, baby leeks, polenta cake & a rich dark chocolate & thyme jus.
Dessert is a serious business with an assiette of chocolate treats, including a chocolate mousse ‘shot’, pistachio & chocolate brownie with chocolate ice cream and a white chocolate and raspberry parfait.
The experience will be topped off with a pot of chocolate flake tea, served alongside a plate of home made freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. The ‘Chocolate Menu’ is priced at £36.95 per person.
If you fancy something a little stronger to complete your meal, there’ll be a Hot Cross Bun Gin & Tonic, or Chocolate Martini on offer too!
Management couple Will & Pippa, themselves partial to a square of Cadbury’s finest, struck upon the idea for a dedicated ‘Chocolate Tasting Menu’ as they were planning for the busy Easter period.
Landlady Pippa, explained,
“Easter is synonymous with chocolate & indulgence, but the delicious fun doesn’t have to end at hunting for chocolate eggs. Working with our chef Graham’s creativity, we’ve developed a gastronomic adventure – both savoury & sweet – using everyone’s favourite ingredient!’
The Crown Inn will also be hosting a tasty ‘Chocolate Quiz’ on Thursday 29th March, offering a light supper of Mexican ‘Mole’ – a chili & chocolate infused beef stew, followed by a rich chocolate & pistachio brownie.
Tickets for the quiz will be £15pp, with guaranteed treats & edible prizes.
Plus, there’ll be a FREE Easter Egg Hunt in the pub garden on Sunday 1st April.
